In
June of 2000, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced that a new
Parish would be built to serve the thriving Catholic population in
Central Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
That summer, approximately 1,500 families from Buckingham responded by gathering for the official founding of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. Many of us had recently moved to this newly-developed area, and we eagerly sought the community of new neighbors who shared our Roman Catholic faith. Our Parish History to date is one filled with challenges, hopes, victories, faith and, ultimately — joy. Each step we have made in our pilgrimage of faith has brought us a little closer to God, to one another and to the goals of our Mission Statement. Through God’s grace and the dedication, patience, loyalty and generosity of our clergy, office staff, volunteers and parishioners, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish dedicated our new Church on June 11, 2011 and we are currently working to complete the décor of our new Church and Chapel and build our Parish Ministry Center. Through our commitment to serving as a Tithing Community, as well as to funding our Capital Campaign, we prayerfully continue to give generously of our time, talent and treasure so that we may live up to the mandate set forth by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and serve the people of our parish. In support of our efforts, please join us in praying: “Our Lady of Guadalupe, you asked Juan Diego to serve as an instrument in helping to build a new Church in Mexico that would honor her Son. Help us respond to God’s call to complete His Church in Buckingham. Please give us the courage in faith of Juan Diego to persevere despite obstacles. And let us always encourage each other to follow Jesus and share our gifts in His name. Amen”
